The shape of the curve is very different. The Q1 V1 has a large radius to the curve on the inside of the upper case (ie the part of the case that touches the bottom-left-corner of the Left Control key). The Q1 V2 has a much smaller radius (more square) - they made that change because some keycaps with pointy corners rather than rounded-off
In the console’s System Settings. From the HOME Menu, select System Settings. Scroll down the menu on the left-hand side and select System, then Serial Numbers. The console serial number will be displayed at the top of the list.

Check your serial number I guess. I’m not sure if the viper mini uses the same serial number format as the viper ultimate, but you are guaranteed V2 opticals on the ultimate on serial numbers XX2037 and up. 2036 should be fine. Anything between 2034 and 2036 MIGHT have V2 opticals. Anything after 2037 will have V2 opticals no matter what.
But I am weary about further screen issues as it is a complete deal-breaker for me. I play the switch like 95% of the time in handheld mode. So now I'm debating if I should try to get a third v1 switch which I feel nervous about or try getting a new v2 switch and sending it to someone to be hardmodded. Basically here's my list of questions:
