So, the ice maker for my fridge has been acting up for months now. Originally, there was an issue with the ice maker depositing the ice into the bucket. My dad replaced the ice maker (same model, by the way), and it seemed to have worked for a while, but now the water line isn't actually dispensing any water into the ice maker.
Remove the ice maker from the freezer using your ownerâs manual. Locate the thermostat on the back of the ice maker; it looks like a switch with black color. Replace the broken thermostat with a new one. Reinstall your ice maker into your freezer. Turn on your fridge and check the ice maker.
Cause 9. Icemaker Mold Thermostat. The icemaker mold thermostat monitors the temperature of the ice mold (ice tray). Once the mold reaches the proper temperature, the icemaker ejects the ice cubes and refills the ice mold with water. If the mold thermostat is defective, the ice maker will stop making ice.
After taking out the ice bucket, emptying the tray, and taking a look; my spouse and I noticed that the (auger? mechanism?) at the back was completely frozen and semi-encased in ice* There was also a build-up of ice inside the white plastic behind it, as well as inside the fridge at the seam where the ice maker meets the fridge interior.O2z1ape.
